Experience narrative

The interview with Marriott was straightforward. I had a 20-minute conversation with the recruiter, who confirmed my next and final interview with the hiring manager. The follow-up interview with the hiring manager was smooth and uneventful. He was primarily looking for a candidate who would be a good fit for the team. Although the interview did not result in a job offer, I came away with positive impressions from the experience.

    My technical interview was with Zach, who was courteous and professional throughout the conversation. I struggled to navigate the behavioral aspects of the interview and fell short in communicating my technical depth effectively. I appreciated his subtle yet honest indication that I would not be selected for the role. Despite delivering difficult news, he maintained a warm and respectful tone until the end of our conversation. Rejection is never easy, but in hindsight, this experience reinforced that communication is just as critical as technical expertise. This was one of the few interviews that genuinely helped me grow and made me a stronger candidate for future opportunities.
